Diehl Insurance – Auto Rebates/payment deferrals

Great news! Our “regular”personal auto insurers have all announced they will be offering credits/rebates of about 15% of your auto premiums for April and May. Credits will be processed automatically for all customers. This process will take several weeks as insurers must receive formal approval from each state’s Department of Insurance prior to processing these credits. Hopefully you will start to see these payments in the next few week. Please note that currently our motorcycle and collector auto insurers are not offering credits. We’re actually seeing some of these vehicles getting MORE use while workers are furloughed or working from home.

Insurers are also waiving fees for late payments and halting cancellations for non-payments. Many customers are furloughed and with unemployment services overloaded, insurance companies want to give you more time to pay. Please note that all premiums ARE due and fees/cancellations will resume in June or July. If you need further assistance please call the office to discuss.

During this unusual time, we want to assure our customers that we are here to assist you. Insurance is an Essential Business exempt from shut down orders announced by Ohio Governor Mike Dewine. It’s comforting to know if you have an auto accident or home claim, you are able to file insurance claims and work with body shops and contractors for repairs.

We are available during regular hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm to serve you. It’s always nice to see customers face to face, but during this period you may prefer to reach out by phone or email. Most insurers allow us to accept credit card or check by phone payments, and we can answer most policy questions via on-line company access.

Stay safe and healthy,

Eric and Karen Diehl
